St Heliers, Auckland, NZ
Vellenoweth Green, 355 Tamaki Drive
10KM
Vellenoweth Green is the new home of the ASICS Waterfront Half Marathon from 2026 onwards. This huge new venue will allow the event to continue to grow and provides the anchor for our new, single-lap half marathon course.
Vellenoweth Green is a charming and sun‑drenched open space nestled across from the beach in St Heliers, Auckland. Framed by views of the Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Island, it’s a scenic setting beloved by locals and visitors alike. With Tamaki Drive closed to traffic for the event, the beach will provide a calming spot to gather your thoughts pre-race and an awesome cool-down when you finish.
Pack the swimmers and we'll see you there!
Venue Map
With such a large venue at our disposal, we can spread out a little bit and make room for all the exciting activations and attractions which make this event so special. The finish line is at the absolute geometric centre of the reserve with the start line on Tamaki Drive, just beyond the north-eastern corner of the reserve.
Important! As we get closer to the event, we'll refine this venue map to provide more detail of exactly where everything will be, so you can get yourself oriented prior to race day.

FINISH LINE TENT SITE
Make the most of your Waterfront Half Marathon event day experience with a Finish Line Tent Site right on the finish line ... it even comes with a free VIP Parking Space!
Adding to what will be a phenomenal atmosphere at the Waterfront Half Marathon is our new Finish Line Tent area, just to the east of the finish chute on Vellenoweth Green. Finish Line Tent Sites are $195 each, but your office or running club can qualify for a FREE tent site! Just register 25 entrants under your team name and get in touch to claim your free site.
Important! Strictly limited numbers. Do not delay if you want to secure yours.
How It Works
You'll be advised of your tent site number and location about 7 days out from the event. You can pitch your tent on Saturday afternoon and our guard will keep an eye on it on an all-care, no responsibility basis - or from 5:30am-7:30am on race morning. Entry to the venue will be via the junction of Polygon Rd and The Parade.
You will be able to drop your things near your tent on The Parade and then you must withdraw your vehicle to the VIP parking area at the back (south side) of Vellenoweth Green, against the hedge.
Your tent must be properly secured to ensure it is safe and cannot move. If wind is forecast above 20kph on race day, event organisers reserve the right to ban tents, however your exclusive use area and vehicle parking will be honoured.
All tents must be constructed and secured by 7:30am. Tents are not to be removed until the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony (approx 11:15am).
