Wynyard Quarter is a vibrant, sustainable waterfront neighborhood located on reclaimed land at the western edge of Auckland's central business district. Formerly dominated by "tank farm" the area is the midst of a multi-year redevelopment into a stunning new waterfront parkland development.
Base Spaces is a huge tarsealed area between Silo Park and the Team New Zealand headquarters which - when not hosting special events - is used for skateboarding and basketball. During race weekend, Base Spaces will be crammed to the brim with our finish line, presentation stage, gear drop, registration and merchandise marquees and food and drink vendors.
The finish line of the Waterfront Half Marathon will occupy the eastern side of the venue space with a stunning backdrop of downtown skyscrapers. This will be a finish to remember!

The compact nature of the venue means everything race related can be reached with minimum fuss.
Your Start Line is on Hamer St, bordering the venue and in the imposing shadow of The Gantry, a multi-level walkway that spans right across the street. This forms a magnificent gateway to get your running journey underway. Goosebumps or what?
You'll approach the Finish Line via the packed cafes and restaurants of North Wharf, diners on one side and the harbour on the other. A right hand turn in front of one of the many Silos in Silo Park gives onto what was formerly Brigham St. With cheering spectators on both sides and the downtown skyscrapers looming on your right, you can soak up that finishing feeling in the final stretch.
Once through the recovery chute, your gear bag is almost within touching distance at the Gear Drop and you can meet up with friends and family to enjoy some food and drink, cheer on your comrades and get ready for the Awards Ceremony and some amazing spot prizes. Onya!
