Introducing the Waterfront Half

INTRODUCING ...

ASICS WATERFRONT HALF MARATHON

Over a few short years since the Waterfront Half Marathon was first held in 2018, it has become the premier half marathon in Aeotearoa. Elite and recreational athletes alike are drawn to the opportunity to round their summer of fitness off amongst a cast of thousands on fully closed Tamaki Drive - surely New Zealand's most iconic running location.

The Waterfront Half Marathon is produced to the very highest standards and includes live timing from every single kilometre mark - the only event in Australasia to offer this. Live music is spread throughout the course and huge arches and fencing at the km marks help you notch off the achievements on your way to your goal time.

AUCKLAND's STUNNING WATERFRONT

Auckland's Eastern waterfront is a popular beachside destination, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and urban vibrancy. Located just a short drive from the city centre, the calm, sheltered waters make it ideal for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The iconic presence of Rangitoto Island, rising from the waters in the distance, creates a stunning backdrop that adds to the area’s picturesque charm.

The area also boasts a thriving cafe culture, with a variety of eateries lining the waterfront of St Heliers, Kohimarama and Mission Bay, offering everything from gourmet coffee to fresh seafood. The relaxed atmosphere and sea views make it an ideal spot to enjoy a meal or a drink while making the perfect escape from the bustle of city life.
